Here are the ladies that make this place great!
My Femme Fatale journey began in 2013 when I was searching for a way to get into shape that did not involve a treadmill – and FFF did not disappoint! After only 2 open classes, I was hooked and purchased a membership. From that point on, I took as many classes as I could – Dance, Pole, Silks, and Lyra. I started teaching in early 2014. While I have taught all of the aerial apparatus classes over the years, my primary focus is the Lyra and I have been honored to perform it publicly at local events such as the Dayton Metro Public Library opening gala, Equitas Health’s annual Masquerage fundraisers, and various shows at the Yellow Cab Tavern.
I taught my first class at Femme Fatale in 2013. I had been teaching and performing Belly Dance professionally for years when I met Cassie through another instructor. Cassie knew I’d be a good fit for the studio, and when I came to meet with her and take her Dance Fuzion class, I realized she was right. I don’t teach a watered-down version of Belly Dance, and I saw the ladies at this studio were hungry for something deeper and more challenging. I was impressed and knew we could embrace the art form fully. It wasn’t long after that I became a certified Yoga instructor (RYT-200), and eventually added Yoga onto my schedule at the studio. Yoga and Dance are a lifestyle for me, and my goal in class is to present them passionately-body, mind, and soul-and have A LOT of fun doing it!
I joined Femme in 2016 after moving to the Dayton area for a new job. I cheered at West Virginia University and had been coaching at an All-Star gym before moving, so I needed something to fill that void. I fell in love with pole instantly and never slowed down quickly picking up Lyra and Liquid Motion as well.
I became an instructor in 2018! I love exploring the different styles of dance when choreographing pole routines and can’t wait to help others discover its versatility.
I have become an active pole competitor and PSO Unicorn so I can help answer any pole sport organization competition questions! I earned 2nd place in Exotic Level 3 at the 2018 PSO Gateway Pole Championships! I became a Licensed Liquid Motion® instructor in 2019!
I started dancing at the age of 3. I attended Stivers School For the Arts and finished high school learning technical dance. I attended Ohio University for Organizational Communication Studies and Minored in Dance Performance and Choreography. During this time, I also earned a certificate in African Dance and Music Studies. After college, I pursued jobs that focused on my Bachelor’s Degree but was unfulfilled without dance in my life. Eventually, I started looking for an outlet and came across Femme Fatale Fitness. I almost immediately signed up for a membership. My first enrollment classes were Intro to Pole and Modern Dance class. I LOVED THEM. In 2016, after about a year and a half, I was hired as an instructor. I teach mainly technical dance and pole. Through the studio I’ve had the privilege of performing at the Jigglewatts Burlesque Revue’s 10 Years of Tease, The Main Event and Grand Opening at the Dayton Metro Library Downtown, Dayton’s Masquerage in 2017 and 2018, and plenty of Burlesque shows. I’m very grateful that I’ve found this Dayton Gem!
I found Femme in January 2018 when I was looking for adult dance classes. I went to a Dance Fuzion class with Cassie and Toni; I was hooked. Femme became my happy place, my sanity, and my community. I started to feel strong in my body and my anxiety started to decrease. I was approached about becoming an instructor in September 2018 and said “YES!” No looking back now! Love my job, love my Femme Fatales!
I first encountered aerials at a flow arts festival. A friend found Femme Fatale 6 years ago and encouraged me to attend the Circus Workout. I quickly fell in love with the unique type of fitness, and the supportive community. I became an instructor several years into my aerial journey, and have been teaching Lyra, Hula Hooping, and other aerial forms since March of 2016. I have had the pleasure to perform with Femme Fatale at many local events including the Dayton Public Library, Masquerage, and several Yellow Cabaret nights.
I’ve always been a fairly active individual and enjoy fitness classes of all kinds, but I sometimes got bored. I was asked multiple times, by a friend to come check out classes at Femme Fatale Fitness, but I had zero dance background, zero grace, and honestly was completely intimidated to enter through those doors. In June of 2015 I finally took my first Lyra class. After the session was over, I immediately purchased a membership and have been taking classes ever since. Femme Fatale Fitness has become my happy place to get fit while having fun, and having a very supportive group of women was just an added bonus! I became very fond of Femme Fatale Fitness and during my years as a student/member, I knew it was a very special place. I wanted to know how I could be more involved at the studio and was soon offered the opportunity to teach! In November of 2018 I became PiYo certified! I have performed a variety of Lyra, Silks and Dance numbers at some of the Femme Fatale Fitness Open House events.
I was in dance when I was a a kid and quit after a year because I was too scared to continue when my friend quit. I spent many years actively avoiding working out because I hated running and I was too embarrassed to go to gyms. I found Femme Fatale shortly after it opened and thought, “I hate running, but pole dance sounds like fun!” I tried to convince my friends to sign up with me and none of them would. Something in my gut told me to go by myself and not be afraid and it was the start of many fearless decisions I’ve made in my life. The confidence I’ve gained and the friends I’ve made paired with the ME time I get when I’m at the studio make the actual physical piece of working out so much more fun! I was approached to teach Burlesque and have since moved into other rooms as well! Outside of the studio I have a dual Bachelors in Accounting and Finance and a Masters of Accountancy. I hold the Makeup Artistry Certification from TrendiMi and am currently working towards my Holistic Remedies Certification from Smart Majority. I have two cats (Stella and Gizmo) that drive me crazy.
I walked into the studio one day after work to find Cassie there setting it up. That studio wasn’t open yet, but would be soon. I got lucky that someone was there! I told her about how I was a Zumba instructor and wanted to know if she was hiring. We scheduled an interview and a demonstration and I started teaching Dance Fuzion as soon as that studio was open for business. It wasn’t long before I was being trained on pole followed shortly by silks and Lyra. In all I’ve been teaching at femme for 7 years now. I teach nearly everything including chair dance, burly-q, pole, silks, lyra, hammock, and even cheer dance occasionally! I’ve performed at two Masquerage parties, the library grand opening and ribbon cutting events and a few yellow cab tavern shows. I opened Crave Aerial Apparel July of 2018.
I was involved in dance and cheerleading growing up, but stopped when I went to college. After struggling to find motivation to go to the gym and work out, I started looking into adult dance classes. In 2013, I started taking pole dancing classes. I was drawn to pole dancing after seeing competition videos on YouTube. I loved seeing people do tricks like inverts and splits. I knew that my cheerleading and dance background would be put to good use! I joined Femme Fatale in 2017 to continue my pole journey. I quickly became a member after seeing the variety of classes offered. I started trying other aerial and dance classes, enjoying and learning as much as I could. In 2018, I became an instructor. I’ve taught all apparatuses, but my focus is pole. I have performed at Best of Dayton, Yellow Cabaret, and Masquerage.
I’ve always enjoyed dance and performing but was too shy to really use them as a platform. In high school I was constantly busy with color guard, winter guard, show choir, and musicals. Once I graduated high school, I lost all of that! I stalked Femme Fatale for years before finally feeling comfortable enough to walk through the doors. I finally came to Femme Fatale in 2015. I had just graduated college and was looking for a hobby and a way to help me lose my baby weight (even though he was 2 years old)! I fell in love with aerial silks right away and lost 30 lbs! I gained a ton of confidence and transformed from an introvert to an extrovert. I became an instructor in 2016 with my focus being on aerial silks. My favorite part of being an instructor is teaching people that are brand new to it! I love watching their confidence grow as they watch themselves do amazing things! I’ve performed with Femme Fatale at the Dayton Metro Library Gala and at the Yellow Cab.
My journey with dance began back when I was 5 years old. I joined a competitive dance team and became an 8 time national champion and 4 time showcase all star. I also have a background as a competitive cheerleader and coached for 15 years. Due to work I had to give up coaching for adult life. I soon decided I had to do something to find myself again. I decided to try to find a new place to work out other than a boring gym with treadmills and elliptical machines. That’s when I found Femme Fatale. I walked in the door in March of 2014 for my first Dance Fuzion class. It was amazing! I loved the atmosphere at the studio and that everyone was so welcoming. I found what I was looking for! I purchased a membership and continued taking classes as a student. After a short time I heard Cassie talking about the need for teachers for Dance Fuzion. I gladly volunteered. We scheduled a time to meet and for me to give a demonstration. I started teaching at Femme Fatale in 2015. Since then, I have taught all kinds of classes at FF, but you can normally find me in the dance room teaching BurlyQ, Chair and of course Dance Fuzion. In 2018 I was able to perform at Masquerage and look forward to many more performances in the future.
I started coming to Femme Fatale in 2010. I found a Groupon for a pole class and decided to give it a whirl! I was beyond nervous, I almost didn’t get out of my car to go in. You see, I was very shy and quiet. I kept to myself all of my life, and never branched out of my very small circle. I’d never taken a dance class in my life. But something pulled me out of my car and into the studio that day! I’m so thankful it did! Over the next few months, I discovered my true self! I found new friends, I became a social butterfly, plus I discovered that people liked me and what I had to offer! I’d never felt that before! I started taking burlesque, and that was when I really found out what I am capable of! It was so empowering! In 2012, I was asked to become an instructor. I started helping to teach teaser classes and I took over the party portion of Femme Fatale. Over the years, I’ve taken on new roles and I love being involved with everything! I’m so excited for all that is to come for Femme Fatale and the community we have built!
